“I thought she said she loved writing”.  This is what I imagine my boss is saying about me.

Hello, I’m Kendall and 2 weeks ago I joined the team at Spine Street Studios.

In my interview I declared that I loved writing.  “Great! you can write blogs”.   Sure no problem.  The thing is…I’ve never written a blog and for 2 weeks I’ve been procrastinating about writing one.  It’s not that I was lying when I said I loved writing…I really do.  I just have zero experience in the film and photography game and feel like I’m not qualified to blog about such topics.   Honestly, if you check my google search history, it will include….what is a cyclorama; blog meaning; how to write a blog; what does a producer do; imposter syndrome!

Seriously though… a couple more weeks soaking up the wisdom of those around me and I’ll feel better.  Spine Street Studios is a pretty great place to work.   Kelly Brown and her team are masters of their craft.  They’re serious about their work and somehow still find plenty of time for fun.  They are proud of Spine Street Studios…and so they should be.

So what’s my first blog about.  I’m really not sure. To take some pressure off myself, let’s call it a diary entry of my first 2 weeks at Spine Street Studios.

This week, Studio4 has been buzzing!  We’ve hosted a production company shooting a high profile sports person, Nine shooting Macca’s Monopoly NRL integrated content and…one I’m particularly excited about…FRANKiE4 doing a full day shoot showcasing their amazing women’s footwear.  FRANKiE4, this tired 40 year old mama can’t get enough of your shoes – THANK YOU for saving our soles!

This week, we’ve seen a sharp increase in Studio4 bookings and I’m learning something new about the industry every day.  I am loving it!  My job at Spine Street Studios is to manage the studio promotion, enquiries, bookings and day of hire process.

Yes, it’s true that I have little experience in film and photography, but I am organised, have high standards and will do whatever it takes to ensure your experience at Spine Street Studios is exceptional.    In terms of size, sound quality, facilities and overall presentation, Studio4 is the best in Queensland!

I look forward to meeting you.  Please get in touch so we can talk about your next shoot.
