Screen Queensland’s (SQ) Head of Studios, Derek Hall and assistant, Bella Schiwy, paid us a visit at Spine Street Studios this week. SQ is a government-owned company that invests and supports in the Queensland screen industry.

We believe that SQ is an important part of Spine Street Studios’ vision as we start thinking about bringing our next project to life.  We welcome and appreciate SQ’s feedback about our current facilities and look to them, to provide advice on future plans for Spine Street Studios.

Derek encouraged us to proceed with our green screen cyclorama vision, and also helpfully talked to us about giving consideration to cater for the future.  LED screen technology using the Unreal Engine is changing the art of film-making.  If you’re not familiar with this technology, take a look at the Youtube links below…

If you’ve ever visited Spine Street Studios, you’ll know that we are fortunate to enjoy the luxury of space.  Our building was purchased with expansion in mind.

So what’s next for us?  First and foremost, we’re putting the final touches on our Graffiti Laneway space and extra soundproofing qualities to Studio4.  The next stage will likely include a green screen cyclorama and consideration will also be given to expanding our existing hair and make-up and wardrobe areas.  Beyond that…we’re constantly researching and investigating how best to cater for an industry that is moving forward with rapid pace.  LED screen technology may well be part of that investigation.

Hearing Derek’s comments about our Studios was motivating and reassuring.  We look forward to continuing a strong relationship with SQ as we remain committed to offering our clients flexible, well-maintained spaces, relevant to their needs.

We’d love to help with your next project. Feel free to get in touch.
